More important, cookies allow us to make the membership experience a more pleasant one. Once you have successfully logged in a cookie is written that enables our security system to recognize you every time you return. Of course, this assumes you're using the same computer or hand-held device that has the cookie stored on it.
So, once that cookie exists, you should be able to enter the member area without having to type in your username and password each time. There are a variety of technical reasons for why this does not always work, but for most it does and we think that's a cool thing.
